Non-Profit Organizations

FuturTech provides ongoing IT support for several non-profit organizations in Delaware. We have installed computer networks at the Delaware Humanities Forum, New Castle Presbytery and several churches of all types of denominations, and we currently support and maintain the computer hardware and software on an ongoing basis. FuturTech also provided IT services to the Delaware Solid Waste Authority and the Boys/Girls Club of Delaware, Delaware Crime and Justice, and Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Conectiv and Delmarva Power

FuturTech Consulting has provided Conectiv, now called PEPCO with several Programmers, Project Managers, Network Technicians and System Analysts, involving long and short-term project during the last 6 years. Our staff is assigned to the Wilmington office and the Data Center in Newark, Delaware. They are involved in the maintenance and development of Financial, Benefits, Human Resources, Claims and other applications. Some of the program languages and databases used in these projects include SAP, ADABAS, Natural, COBOL, PowerBuilder, Visual Basic, Access, Oracle, SQL Server HTML, DHTML and Peoplesoft.

One of our significant accomplishments at Conectiv is a web-based application that provided all Conectiv employees with information regarding all employee benefits and benefit packages. It also tracked all benefits provided to each employee and automated the various open enrollment programs. In addition, the application offered an electronic interface that transferred funds and enrollment information to various benefit providers, such as Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Aetna, and Coventry Health Care. This application significantly reduced the number of staff required to perform this function and improved customer service. One of FuturTech Lead Programmers is assigned fulltime to Delmarva Power and PEPCO.

New Cal Aviation

FuturTech has successfully developed an Inventory System for an airplane parts company with warehouses in New York, Texas, and New Jersey. This is a client/server application programmed in Microsoft Visual Basic and SQL Server in a Windows 2000 network operating system. Upon completion of the first phase of the project, the system was fully operational. The second phase of the project integrated New Cal’s existing customer database from their legacy system into the new application. This provided additional functionality for streamlining operations. We also installed a new SQL Server and new personal computers to enhance this Point of Sales application.

Grotto Pizza Inc.

Since 2003, FuturTech has provided Grotto Pizza with full service technology support for their corporate office and their 18 restaurants throughout the State of Delaware. FuturTech is responsible for the support and maintenance of over 20 servers and the Grotto Wide Area Network (GWAN) that connects all 18 restaurants so those locations can upload daily personnel and sales data to the corporate office. We also support the daily needs of the 18 restaurants and troubleshot server, computers and POS Systems at each location in New Castle and Sussex Counties.

Two FuturTech Network Technicians are assigned to the Corporate Office fulltime, while several other technicians handle the daily technology requirements of the 18 restaurants. In the past, Grotto provided this service in-house, but has found it to be more cost effective and the response time significantly improved by outsourcing their technology to FuturTech.

Currency One

FuturTech Consulting was contracted to develop and implement a plan to assist Currency One in the automation of sixty-one check cashing locations throughout Philadelphia, Delaware County, and South Jersey. This project involved the purchase of hardware and software in the amount of $750,000.00.

The first phase of this plan was to determine the business and software requirements and hardware needs of Currency One. The second phase of this project was to select a software package and outline the equipment needed to run that application. In reviewing the hardware needs it was necessary to specifically identify each piece of equipment that would run with the software product. FuturTech negotiated prices from the manufacturers and distributors and purchased all related equipment at discount prices for our client. In addition, our technical staff delivered and installed all equipment and was responsible for the overall implementation of the system.
