During the past 10 years, Futurtech Consulting, LLC has contracted with several
school districts across the State of Delaware for system requirements analysis,
technology planning, network services, desktop support, cabling, consulting
services, computer sales and service as outlined below:
Data Service Center
FuturTech Consulting, LLC conducted an analysis of the business needs for four
school districts in New Castle County. This analysis specifically identified
the business needs of the Colonial, Christina, Brandywine, and Red Clay
Consolidated School Districts that should be addressed by Data Service Center,
a consortium agency that provides products and services for the four school
districts responsible for educating 60% of the State’s public school students.
In addition, FuturTech developed a Data Service Center Information Technology
Strategic Plan that addresses the requirements identified as a result of the
analysis. For the past 7 years, FuturTech has also provided programming
services to the four northern school districts in Delaware. Several programmers
have assisted the Data Service Center in the development of various web and
mainframe applications.
Red Clay Consolidated School District
FuturTech developed an Online Open Enrollment Benefits Management System for
the Red Clay Consolidated School District. This system provides employees with
the ability to complete all open enrollment functions approved by school
district management. The purpose of the application is to automate the benefit
selection process and allow district employees to access their benefit accounts
online through the Internet.
As a result of the success of the Open Enrollment On-Line Benefits Management
System with Red Clay Consolidated School District, FuturTech was contracted to
develop an interface between the Red Clay system and the State of Delaware’s
benefit tracking system, PHRST. The long term goal is to design and implement
an interface that will link the State PHRST system with all state agencies and
school districts to serve this specific need, and ultimately save the State
millions of dollars.
FuturTech also build an IBU Financial Management System for Red Clay
Consolidated School District. The collection of this information helps the
school district to enhance financial reporting and their ability to determine
how increases or decreases in funding impact education.
Smyrna School District
FuturTech was contracted by the Smyrna School District to provide desktop and
network support. Our technicians provide technology support to all the schools
and the District Office in Smyrna. FuturTech is assisting the school district
with the daily support of technology in the school district, and with special
projects as needed.
Delaware State Education Association (DSEA)
FuturTech has been contracted with DSEA to provide Network, Desktop support,
programming services, and technology planning and requirement analysis during
the past three years including the purchases and installation of all their
computers, servers, printers etc. In the fall of 2005, FuturTech conducted a
requirements analysis and developed a Five Year Technology Plan that outlined
DSEA’s major initiatives for the next five years along with cost estimates and
project plans.
FuturTech has also assisted DSEA with the development of their Members Only Web
Site which provides DSEA with the capability to collect and disseminate
information to further the educational cause in the State.
New Castle County VoTech School District
FuturTech is currently providing technical advice and assistance for designing
the LAN/WAN infrastructure and developing the cabling and wiring specifications
to provide data, voice, and video capabilities for a new Vo Tech High School in
the Middletown area. The primary goal was to establish a blueprint for a state
of the art data communication network to support an enterprise wide, client
server computer environment and telephone system.
PLOYTECH School District
FuturTech Consulting conducted an analysis of the state of technology of the
POLYTECH School District. The study was aimed at identifying areas where the
School District could help the teachers apply technology to better prepare
students for their future. FuturTech compiled a written Five Year Technology
Plan that provided recommendations on how to infuse technology into the
curriculum and ensure that students are prepared to utilize the technology of
the 21st century.
Subsequently, FuturTech Consulting assisted in the support of new and existing
hardware in the School District. This support consisted of deploying new
desktops and server hardware, repairing existing computers, trouble shooting
hardware problems, and help desk maintenance.
